Official Rules

Tucson Parks Foundation $1,000,000.00 Hole-in-One Contest
All contestants agree to be bound by these rules as a condition of their participation

1.    This event is strictly for amateurs.  Professional golfers may not compete and are ineligible for prizes.  Professional golfers include club pros, teaching pros or other professionals as sanctioned or certified by any organization.

 

2.    Contestants must use the marked golf balls purchased from TPF volunteers.  All shots must be taken from the mats and platform provided.

 

3.   All measurements made by the TPF volunteer assigned to measure closest to the pin are final.  Measurements will be made from the front of the ball the edge of the hole and measured in 1/8th inch increments.  The TPF volunteer will only measure those shots that legitimately may qualify for daily prizes or for the final round.  The volunteer will signal when he/she is going on the green to measure – ALL COMPETITORS MUST STOP SHOOTING WHEN SIGNALED.  The Rules of Golf apply to determine ball position for measuring a shot.

 

4.    The three closest to the pin each day will qualify for the semi-final round and a chance to win $10,000 for a hole in one. The six closest to the pin in the semi-final round will qualify for the finals and chance to win $1,000,000 for a hole in one.  In the event of more than three holes in ones by separate contestants on any qualifying day all hole in one’s will qualify for the semi-final round.  The six closest to the pin each day win prizes. In the event of any ties the order of the prizes will be determined by the time the shot was made.   Ties will be broken based on the earliest shot being the higher ranked shot.

 

5.  The Semi-Final round and Final round will be held on February 18, 2012 at or near 4:00 PM at the Randolph Golf Complex.  No exceptions.  If a qualifier is not present he/she will lose the opportunity to compete.  No one may compete in the final round without qualifying.  No mulligans.  No substitutions.

 

6.  No competitor may qualify for more than one shot in the semi final or final round.  Competitors may win one daily prize on separate days but do not qualify for more than one shot in the semi finals prior to the final round and a chance to compete for the $1,000,000.00 prize.  In the event a contestant wins a daily prize on multiple days that player will not be counted as a qualifier for the semi finals on any day after their first qualifying day and the next closest qualifier will be eligible for the semi final round.

 

7.  This event takes place on a golf course – all competitors assume all known and unknown risks of being on a golf course – including but not limited to – errant shots from other competitors and adjacent fairways, other competitors golf swings, golf carts, uneven surfaces, wet grass, weather – hot, cold rainy or windy, animals, insects and other natural or manmade conditions found on a golf course.

 

8.  Competitors agree to hold the Tucson Parks Foundation, the City of Tucson and their employees or volunteers harmless and release TPF and COT for all acts of negligence or other injury causing events of whatever cause as a condition of participating in this event.

 

9.  The $1,000,000.00 prize is payable through a 40 year annuity secured through Hole-In-One International.  The Tucson Parks Foundation and the City of Tucson are not liable to pay the prize money in the event of any default, bankruptcy or other failure to pay by Hole-In One International or the insurance company that insures the annuity payments.   TPF and COT are not guarantors or indemnitors of the $1,000,000.00 prize.

 

10.   By entering the competition the contestant gives the Tucson Parks Foundation and the City of Tucson permission to use their likeness and name for promotional activity and publicity without any additional compensation or authorizations.

 

11.  Contestants understand that participation in this event may impact or impair a contestant’s amateur or professional status and the City of Tucson or the Tucson Parks Foundation make no representations regarding the impact of winning any prizes or sums of money may have on an individual’s amateur status.  The contestants are advised to consult with any sports sanctioning body to determine the consequences of their participation.

Tucson Parks Foundation $10,000 Putting Contest
All contestants agree to be bound by these rules as a condition of their participation

2.    Contestants must use golf balls provided by TPF volunteers.  All putts must be taken from the location designated by TPF volunteers.

 

3.   Each contestant will putt 10 balls. The three contestants making the most putts (per ten putt entry) each day will qualify for the semi-finals, to be conducted Saturday, February 18th 2012 at or near 4:00 PM at the Randolph Golf Complex. If a qualifier is not present for the semi-finals or finals, he/she will lose the opportunity to compete.  No one may compete in the semi-final or final round without qualifying.  No mulligans.  No substitutions.

 

4.  In the event of a tie, the qualifiers will be determined by the time the putts were made. The earliest putt will be the higher ranked putt. The closest putt to the hole in the semi-final round will qualify for one putt to win $10,000. In the case of ties in the semi-final round, a one putt “putt off” will be held to determine the participant who qualifies for the final putt. All measurements made by the TPF volunteer assigned to measure closest to the hole are final.  Measurements will be made from the front of the ball the edge of the hole and measured in 1/8th inch increments.
